This picture book has long been a family favourite! It is written by Joy Cowley, a New Zealand author. And we won this book years ago in a Bell Block, New Plymouth , New Zealand Library competition for guessing which author would get the writer's award. It must be out of print to have this price on a second hand copy at Amazon, but if you live in NZ look out for it in second hand book shops. It has a fantastically unusual way of using words and humour, which tickles the fancy of youngsters and us oldies too. A delightful book to read aloud, one of the few you will never tire of reading again and again!
" Once upon a mousetime
two little sqeaks went cheesing...
searching for cheese, strong yellow cheese,
cheese as round as the moon."
The old old grey meow concocts a plan to catch these cheeky squeaks! And then comes Timothy's favourite part.....
"but then the cheese
made her sneeze
A-a-a-a-a-choo
And she blew it!
She really blew it!
The cheese...

her supper....
